LYCIA, Myra. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ 30mm (15.67 g, 12h). Struck AD 241-244. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Cult-statue of Artemis Eleutheria; phiale to left at feet. Von Aulock, Münzprägung 139; SNG Copenhagen -. Good VF, dark green patina with lighter green overtones, minor roughness.
St. Nicholas, one of the most popular of all saints, was Bishop of Myra in the 4th century.
